HeartDistance verbindet genau zwei Menschen.

HeartDistance connects exactly two people. There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. Only your latest location is stored — never a history, never on a map, never visible to anyone else. What you send each other is seen only by the two of you.
This data is stored in the app's CloudKit database at Apple (iCloud). The database belongs to the HeartDistance developer account, and the developer can technically access it. The data is used only to make the app's features work; it is not analysed, sold or shared.
Instant widget updates (iOS 26 and later): so that a new photo appears in your partner's widget right away, the app stores the widget's push address (issued by Apple) together with your pairing code on a small developer-run server at Google Firebase (data center in the USA). The server only sends a “new photo” signal through Apple's push service — photos, texts or locations never pass through it.
To improve the app, anonymous usage signals (e.g. “pairing completed”, “invite shared”, “Plus purchased” with the chosen plan) are collected via TelemetryDeck — no names, no locations, no content. Instead of a person, only a hashed, non-reversible identifier of the device is sent. This includes which variant of a screen your device randomly shows (A/B test), so we can see which presentation helps couples more, whether notifications and location are allowed, and, when pairing fails, a short reason such as “code not found” or “offline”. TelemetryDeck is a privacy-first service hosted in the EU.
HeartDistance Plus is billed by Apple. Payment data is handled exclusively by Apple; we never receive payment information.
To show your partner's weather, their location is sent to Apple WeatherKit. Weather data: Apple Weather.
“Untie the thread” in Settings removes your data from the shared record. Questions or deletion requests: marco.p.keller@gmail.com
